The exhilarating international hit game show, "Deal or No Deal" hit Malaysian airwaves early last year on the 12th of March’07 featuring contestants from all walks of life vying for a top prize of RM100,000 in a high-energy and absorbing contest of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. Adapted from the original format from Endemol, the localized version of the game show in Mandarin comprised of 52 episodes followed by another 52 episodes in English which were aired weekly and managed to attract a decent half a million viewers.

This season Deal or No Deal (Mandarin) has undergone a major facelift. First off, the number of episodes has been trimmed to 26 episodes as opposed to 52 episodes in the first season. Secondly, the gorgeous yet humble local TV personality and newscaster Owen Yap who is a household name among Chinese TV viewers will host this second season with contestants as they share their tears, joy and laughter. In addition to that, there will 18 new attractive looking briefcase models that ought to reinvigorate the show.

So expect the atmosphere, intensity and excitement this season to be much greater than before while they strive against the odds to break the bank of RM100,000. This time they get to keep 100% of the prize money instead of sharing 20% of it with the winner of the SMS contest. Deal or No Deal, the most addictive game show world wide, is now locally produced in English, heralding Malaysia’s first English game show in over a decade! Adapted from the original format from Endemol, the localized English version has renowned radio deejay Aanont Wathanasin aka ‘Non’ who hosts this highly entertaining fare accompanied by 26 gorgeous briefcase models and the penny-pinching banker. Contestants from all walks of life compete through a series of questions requiring knowledge and a fast buzzer hand for the top prize of RM100,000!

The first season comprised of 52 episodes each in English and Mandarin and managed to capture 500,000 viewers weekly. Following the success of season 1, where we witnessed a contestant walking away with a winning suitcase of RM 100,000, Deal or No Deal will be back for a second season on the 1^st of November 2008. Expect more drama, emotion and a surprising group of briefcase models!
